Reflections Team

Our multidisciplinary treatment team includes board certified psychiatrists, psychologists, internal medicine physicians, licensed therapists, registered dietitians, case managers, and nursing support.


Gary Litovitz, MD

Medical Director, Reflections and Dominion Hospital

Dr. Gary Litovitz, a board certified psychiatrist, is the Medical Director of Dominion Hospital and the Reflections Eating Disorders Treatment Center.  He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he did his residency in psychiatry and a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine.  Dr. Litovitz has written and lectured on a variety of topics including Eating Disorders, Self Injury, Mood Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and other Anxiety Disorders.  He also maintains an outpatient practice of psychiatry in the Tyson’s Corner area of Vienna, VA.

 

 

Felicia Kolodner, MS, LPC, NCC

 Director, Reflections 

Felicia Kolodner is a licensed counselor in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.  She is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC).  Felicia completed her graduate and post-graduate work at Johns Hopkins University.  Felicia has an extensive background in working with trauma survivors as both a clinician and as a program administrator.  Felicia has also been an adjunct professor at the University of Maryland.  She has lectured and taught on a variety of topics including eating disorders, domestic violence and trauma.  In 2009, she was appointed to the Board of Directors of Prevent Child Abuse America.  She also sits on the board of Micah House, a transitional program for women in recovery and is on the National Council of Sigma Delta Tau sorority. Felicia is a member of the National Counseling Association, National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA), International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IADEP) and Washington Society for the Study of Eating Disorders and Obesity.(WSSEDO).

 

JulianneJulianne Brechtl, RN, MA, LMHC

Intake Coordinator 

Julianne has been licensed as a mental health counselor since 2002 and completed her nursing degree in 2009. Prior to moving to Virginia and joining Dominion Hospital, she worked for an outpatient mental health facility where she provided individual, couple and group treatment for adults with a variety of mental health disorders including eating disorders and mood disorders. She is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and previously trained clinical staff in DBT and implemented successful DBT programs. In addition to working here at Reflections, Julianne teaches facilitates a postpartum depression support group out in the community.  

 

Jody Wager, MS, BC-DMT

Director, Activity/Expressive Therapy, Reflections and Dominion Hospital

Jody has been a dance/movement therapist since 1980, after receiving her Masters Degree from Hunter College in NYC and has most recently been appointed Vice President of the American Dance Therapy Association. She has worked primarily in psychiatric hospitals throughout the greater metropolitan DC area, but has worked at Dominion Hospital since the early 1990’s. She has studied many forms of dance, yoga, Pilates, meditation, art, writing, psychodrama and guided imagery. The philosophy that guides her work is that the relationship between the body and the mind is inseparable and that we can’t treat one without the other. Her approach is a holistic one that supports integration of the body, mind and emotions. The expressive therapy program is an integral part of the Reflections Unit and is designed to provide the patient with a creative, holistic, and multi-media approach to exploring and expressing the feelings and issues that arise in treatment.

 

YvetteYvette Mitchell, LGSW

Social Worker

Yvette has been a Licensed Graduate Social Worker since 2006.  She received her Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Texas, El Paso and later received her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.  She began her social work career in 1998, working within the public policy field as an advocate for women’s issues, and later transitioned into the clinical social work field, providing crisis intervention counseling and substance abuse assessments for a national employee assistance program.  She is an experienced trainer and group facilitator and has worked with children and adolescents in a variety of settings, addressing the issues of self-esteem, body image, health, and social skills.  As a member of the Reflections multidisciplinary team, Yvette provides individual and family support, as well as facilitates group therapy sessions.

 

MarisaMarisa Gelfand, M. Ed.

Counselor 

Marisa received her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, and went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.  Having started her career in mental health in research, Marisa worked as a project coordinator at Washington University in St. Louis focusing on at-risk women, substance abuse and mental health.  Having transitioned into a Clinical role, Marisa has worked in inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs providing therapy and group services targeted at changing unhealthy behaviors and finding effective coping skills.  During her free time, Marisa volunteers at a community-based hotline for sexual assault survivors, and is a member of a sexual assault response team. As a member of the Reflections multidisciplinary team, Marisa provides individual and family support and facilitates group therapy sessions.

 

AshleyAshley Clever, RD

Registered Dietitian, Reflections and Dominion Hospital

Ashley Clever graduated from the University of Georgia with degrees in Dietetics and Psychology. She discovered her love for working with patients suffering from eating disorders as a graduate intern.

Before joining the Reflections team, Ashley worked as a pediatric clinical dietician.  Some of her roles at Reflections include providing patients with individualized meal plans, facilitating nutrition groups, leading cooking demonstrations, and supervising family meals to help patients with transition to home.

 

KristaCrista Studer, RD

Registered Dietitian, Reflections and Dominion Hospital

Crista Studer graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Dietetics.  Crista  gained clinical experience at Saint Louis University with an emphasis in pediatrics.  This is where she grew her passion for working with patients with eating disorders.  She has residential, inpatient and outpatient clinical experience.  Crista also volunteers her time working with eating disorder advocacy groups providing cooking demonstrations and nutritional support. Crista works in conjunction with Ashley to form our Reflections nutrition team.
